Had another morning lazing round the pool before heading out with the dogs up the hill to the Observatory. At the top you can see the Hollywood sign in the distance. There was a great view of L.A. and the sun was on it’s way down, so was looking beautiful. We found a spot to sit and watch the sun go down and as it was about midnight in the UK, it was a lovely way to see the New Year in.
It was then time to get ready for the L.A. New Year, so Karis headed off to see an artist in Long Beach I went to see Helmet play at the Viper Room. The Viper Room is a pretty famous little venue on Sunset Strip, it’s really small with a tiny stage. There also wasn’t much of a crowd, so I was able to position myself right next to the stage. Was great when the support band came on as it was Nick Oliveri’s band (From Queens of the Stone Age & Kyuss). So great to see them so close up!
They did a setlist and then carried on to play requests and I got the one I wanted played, Wilmas Rainbow 🙂
