NY IN LA 2015 – DAY 10: LA Derby Dolls & Punk Rock

4th Jan 2015: Banked Track & Pulley

Up early to go visit the L.A. Derby Dolls at their soon to be demolished venue, the Doll House. This was the first time I’ve ever tried banked track! Was a bit weird at first, but I joined in the session OK and didn’t do too badly, even got to do mini scrim at the end!

I then went to Wicked skate  shop round the corner to spend my Christmas money on new Wheels & Bearings! Yay!

New wheels & bearings!

After food, a sunbathe and a nap, I headed out to meet my friend Rocky at the Roxy to see a band called Pulley, one that I’ve liked for a long time, but have never seen, so was really stoked that I got to see them up close and personal here in L.A.!

After their set I got to meet the singer and the guitarist which was ace. We then watched the final band, JFA and I found a punk guy who I knew from London and knows Karis really well, so I took him back to see her which was pretty cool.

Had a great day today, so stoked to have skated bank track and also to have seen Pulley and even met them! L.A. is a great place to see bands!
