Handmade repurposed and recycled fabrics, made into unusual dungarees, dresses, bags and more.
BAM!bleflea was created to fill my time when I'm not working (as a freelance Web designer/developer) and also to recycle/upcycle fabrics that I have collected over the years!
What with the masive of amount of disposable clothing going into the world, I wanted to try and reduce that by re-using fabric instead. Plus, I just love making weird and wonderful things!
It all started with this project, where I upcycled an old sheet into some dungarees!
I then got the bug for it and started trapsing around charity shops to find unusual pieces of fabric to upcycle! This could be an old duvet cover, some curtains or bits from other clothing which has interesting fabric.
I also like to use new fabrics which are unsual. My sister works in Africa a lot and so gave me lots of amazing fabrics (called Khanga's) to make into things.
Follow me on Instagram or Facebook to see what else I decide to create!
After a while, I started to make dresses, bumbags, rope bowls and other random things too. Anything that took my fancy on that day! The rope bowls are interesting because they came about when I didn't want to throw away any of the off-cuts from the fabric. This way I can wind the off-cuts around ropes and make little plant pot holders and bowls! Take a look at some of the things I've made so far...
