NEW YEAR IN LA 2015 – DAY 9: LA

3rd Jan 2015

OK, so we didn’t go to Mexico, but we did visit first street which is where the first house of Los Angeles is based and so are many Mexican shops and food stalls.

Here is a Nativity scene in the band stand next to where they were playing Mexican music and people were dancing.

Hidden amongst all the stalls is the first house built in LA, shown below.

We went shopping along the long alley ways of stalls and shops, buying loads of Mexican goods, such as throws and Day of the Dead skulls. We also had some lush Mexican food, whilst being serenaded by street musicians!

After buying lots of mexican stuff, we headed home… except it was the worst journey EVER! There was a marathon that day and we were diverted so many times it was stupid. Took us hours to get home, after resting up for a bit we headed out for eats at Rock & Roll Thai food place Toi, which is full of music posters and crazy sculpures…

After filling up on crispy noodles, we headed to Hollywood Boulevard to check out the Chinese theatre and all those hand prints in the concrete made by film stars… I chose to put my hands into those of Johnny Depp…
